A local student is among 3,500 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities.
Ryan H. Smith of White Hall High School earned the National Merit Scholarship at Ouachita Baptist University at Arkadelphia. His probable career field is medicine, according to a news release.
