WHITE HALL – New boundary lines for the five zones represented on the White Hall School Board were approved by the board during a three-hour meeting Tuesday evening.
Two of the seven directors serve at-large, while five must reside in the zone they represent. The new zones, once adopted by the Jefferson County Election Commission, will come into play in the annual September school election.
The district acquired the services of ACTGeospatial to analyze 2010 census data, existing boundaries and determine if adjustments in the zone lines were required.
Superintendent Larry Smith said the population margins between the five zones is no more than 33 out of 14,000 residents.
