Willing Workers of White Hall Extension Homemakers Club met Aug. 27 at the White Hall Library for their picnic/meeting.
Community Service Chairman Kay Cromwell met members at her car and loaded donation items for the White Hall Food Pantry.
Vice President Dee Kindrick welcomed everyone to the meeting. Jim Wilson blessed the food, and members had a color potluck. Members had drawn colors at the last meeting and brought a dish that color and wore that color also, according to a news release.
Tonia Dalby led members in the Homemaker’s Creed. Penny Scoles read the Handy Hint: A fitted twin sheet makes an excellent picnic table cover. Jim Wilson read the inspiration from 1 Corinthians 10:31.
Secretary Jo Ann Carr called the roll with members answering the question: What is your suggestion for a picnic theme? Mary Ann Kizer, Jefferson County Family & Consumer Science Extension agent, was a guest.
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
Cromwell asked members to bring cake mix and canned icing for the food pantry items until Christmas, then they should donate oil, sugar and flour.
Elizabeth Wall, leadership development chairman, read a story on Rainbows.
Kizer went over upcoming events at the Southeast Arkansas District Fair, including check-in on Sept. 22 from 2-6 p.m. at the Hestand Stadium fairgrounds.
A birthday dinner was planned for Oct. 7 at the Lady Bird Cafe in Sheridan to celebrate the birthdays of Marnette Reed, Karen Needler, Carr, Kathy Wilson and Sarah Payton.
In lieu of a program, members played bingo for Picnic Month, with everyone winning at least one prize.
Next month, the program will be on making jelly or jam. The club meets at the White Hall Library the fourth Tuesday night of each month. If you are interested in coming to a meeting, contact any member or call Mary Ann Kizer for more information at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Club, (870) 534-1033.
