White Hall Mayor Noel Foster has appointed Mickey Buffkin as White Hall police chief.

“Mickey has 28 years of law enforcement experience with 12 of those years in a supervisory role,” Foster said in a news release Friday.

Buffkin was a major in the White Hall Police Department and was appointed as interim chief in February by Foster after Police Chief Greg Shapiro resigned.

“Mickey has shown a commitment and dedication to the city of White Hall and our community as a whole. I feel confident that Mickey has the training, experience and leadership to guide our police department into the future as we continue to grow. I believe Mickey will lead the department efficiently and effectively,” he said.

Buffkin’s appointment is effective immediately.

“Please join me in welcoming Mickey Buffkin as the chief of police for the White Hall Police Department,” Foster said.
