Wheeling Machine Products, 5411 Industrial Drive South at Pine Bluff, will receive a two-year Accumulative Safety Award.
An award ceremony will be held at noon Friday, April 21, at Wheeling Machine, a division of US Steel.
Leon Jones Jr., director of the Arkansas Department of Labor, made the announcement in a press release March 14.
According to the release, 140 Wheeling Machine employees accumulated two years without a lost day away from work due to a work-related injury or illness between Jan. 1, 2015, and Jan. 1, 2017. The company has a safety program in effect and a safety committee that includes employees and management.
“The Arkansas Department of Labor, the Arkansas Insurance Department and the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission are pleased to present this award to Arkansas companies who excel in on-the-job safety,” Jones said.
