A Memorial Day program will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 29, at the White Hall Museum Veteran’s Monument, 9009 Dollarway Road.
Col. Kelso Horne, Pine Bluff Arsenal commander, will be the keynote speaker. The National Anthem will be sang and wreaths will be laid.
Other program participants include Darryl Shumaker, who will call the names of the KIA/MIA; White Hall Mayor Noel Foster, Beaver Johnson, the Jefferson County Motorcycle Riders, the White Hall JROTC, Richard Bailey of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Glen Minor, and Jim Monroe, associate pastor of First Baptist Church White Hall.
“As you arrive, we are inviting the public to place a small wreath at the base of the monument. The wreaths can be taken at the end of the ceremony or picked up later in the week. Glen Minor will place the large memorial wreath in front of the monument during the program,” a spokeswoman said.
The Willing Workers of White Hall Home Extension Club will provide refreshments.
