We will still fight
Editor, The Commercial:
I, Charline Wright, ran to represent Pine Bluff School District in Zone 7. I extend a heartfelt and big thank you to the voters of Zone 7, all Pine Bluff School District Stakeholders and others who supported my campaign. I am proud and humbled of the campaign we ran with professionalism, integrity and resilience. I accept the results of the election as a fundamental principle of democracy.
You showed up and showed your support of my candidacy in the 43% of votes cast in Zone 7. This was a momentous occasion for our district. It means that you are concerned and we have a voice in our local control. The fight for maintaining local control through experience and education to increase student achievement and fiscal stability will continue.
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
I will never give up on our district complying with state laws, including the election of all seven board of directors in a single election after being released from state authority, according to Act 633. I will continue to be a fervent advocate as a 41-year educator using my education and experiences for PBSD to maintain local control, to increase student achievement and to hold the district leadership and employees accountable, not critical as some portray me to be.
I am dedicated to the restoration of the high-quality educational standards Pine Bluff School District has historically achieved.
If you want to be informed of our continued efforts and desire to be engaged in our maintaining local control and to increase student achievement, you may contact me at: engageintheschoolscw7@gmail.com. It takes the whole village in the Pine Bluff School District.
Thanks again,
Charline Wright,
Pine Bluff
