Watson Chapel rolls over Hot Springs in big road win

Watson Chapel scored a touchdown each on offense, defense and special teams in the first half of a 42-14 road victory over Hot Springs Friday night at Reese Memorial Stadium.

Davion White’s 14-yard run only 52 seconds into the game triggered a 35-point half for Watson Chapel. It was 21-0 after 12:14 of clock time, the Wildcats scoring twice with their offense on the sideline. Brandon Moye returned a punt 44 yards with 2:27 left in the first quarter and Michael Williams in interception for 45 yards early in the second quarter.

Jakobi Jackson passed 51 yards and 2 yards to Jalyn Williams in the last 5:16 of the first half. Omar Allen went over from a yard out with 3:41 left in the third quarter, Scott Taylor’s sixth extra point making it 42-0.

Routed 41-3 by Arkadelphia last week, Hot Springs went seven quarters without a home touchdown before Trayvon Gordon went 47 yards and Korey Wasson sneaked a yard in the fourth period. Hot Springs dropped to 0-4 in the 5A-South opener for both schools.
