The Watson Chapel High School Wildcat Society Gentlemen Club recently conducted community service activities at Edgewood Elementary and Coleman Elementary schools, interacting with approximately 200 students.
The gentlemen read to Edgewood students, and at Coleman they discussed how to be a gentleman and repeated their signature “Gentlemen Code of Ethics,” according to a news release.
Following the visit at Coleman, the principal requested that a Lil’ Gentlemen Club be established at the elementary school.
The program focuses on anti-bullying activities and the promotion of lesser-known African American history to help reduce violence and build self-esteem among young male students, according to the Rev. Jesse C. Turner, PBICVR-Community Affiliate Network (CAN) legacy member and lead sponsor.
Supporters also include Turning Point Youth Center Inc., BBFK Inc. and Reu’Rose Coaching by Sonya.
