The Jefferson Regional Foundation and Donna Terrell’s Yoga Warriors Fighting Cancer Organization announced a joint initiative to build a no-cost lodge for cancer patients and their families, Donna Terrell’s Warrior Lodge at Jefferson Regional.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the Warrior Lodge will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The lodge will be located on the hospital campus at 4003 S. Mulberry St.

Designed as a sanctuary for patients receiving treatment at the Jefferson Regional Jones-Dunklin Cancer Center, the Warrior Lodge will offer numerous amenities to help create a comfortable, supportive environment, according to a news release.

“Donna Terrell Lambert, an award winning news anchor/storyteller for FOX16 News in Little Rock, Arkansas, believes no one should miss out on life-saving cancer treatments because they live too far from the facility providing care,” according to www.dtwarriorlodge.org.

“The Warrior Lodge is a dream, born out of tragedy. Donna’s daughter Queah, (pronounced Quaya) died from colon cancer in March of 2011. During her cancer battle she received help from a program that offered no-cost housing to cancer survivors and caregivers. Donna experienced the accommodations first hand as she was her daughter’s caregiver during the last few years of her life. Having a place to stay during Queah’s treatments eased some of the worry and financial strain as they tried to navigate through a difficult medical crisis. Since then, through Donna’s efforts, her daughter’s memory lives on and Donna truly believes cancer patients, their families and loved ones will benefit by the comfort they will find inside the Warrior Lodge,” according to the website.

The Pine Bluff facility will feature guest rooms with full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy TV/sitting area. Amenities also include a laundry room with a washer and dryer, an indoor fireplace, a computer room with Wi-Fi, reserved parking with a covered drive, an outdoor patio, and keyless entry for after-hours access, according to the news release.

“Donna Terrell’s Warrior Lodge is set to open its doors in summer 2025, symbolizing a significant advancement in patient care and community support for Jefferson County and Southeast Arkansas,” according to the release.
