Jefferson County juvenile court division is seeking volunteers for auxiliary probation officers to provide one-on-one supervision in an effort to redirect youth at risk.
Anyone who has no involvement in the juvenile court system and is interested in helping youth may volunteer.
Applicants must be at least 20 years old (19 if in college and a sophomore), excellent communication skills, ability to work confidentially, ability to work with diverse populations, have dependable transportation and must not have a child in the juvenile justice system.
The next orientation for new volunteers will be Oct. 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jack Jones Juvenile Justice Center, 301 E. Second Ave., Pine Bluff. Applications must be submitted by 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17. Details: Call 541-5455 or visit the website www.jeffersoncircuitcourt6.org .
