Veterans History Project director to visit NLR veterans’ center

Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System will host the Director of the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project, Karen D. Lloyd, for a meet, greet and short presentation.

The event will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Razorback Room of the Eugene J. Towbin Medical Center at North Little Rock, according to a news release.

“Congress created the Veterans History Project in 2000 to collect, preserve and make accessible the first-hand remembrances of America’s war veterans from WWI through the current conflicts, so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war,” according to the release.

CAVHS’ Voluntary Services routinely records veterans for the project, according to the release.
