U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has appointed Dewayne Goldmon of Pine Bluff to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Minority Farmers Advisory Committee.
The appointment is through June 2017. Goldmon is an advisor to the National Black Growers Council and outreach lead for Monsanto Co.
The committee provides farmer, rancher, industry and public perspectives on USDA strategies, policies and programs that impact minority farmers and ranchers.
The panel is the public advisory arm of the Socially Disadvantaged Farmer and Rancher Program administered by the USDA Office of Advocacy and Outreach.
