The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Upward Bound is seeking ninth and 10th graders for the 2017-18 academic year. Upward Bound is a federally funded TRiO Program.
“The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits,” according to the UAPB website.
Interested applicants must be in the Pine Bluff, Dollarway or Watson Chapel school districts and meet the minimum qualifications: a first generation family member seeking a four-year college degree (parents don’t have degrees); be low income (free lunch eligible); have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and a desire to obtain a four-year degree.
The deadline for applications is Friday, Sept. 29. Applications are available at http://www.uapb.edu/upwardbound, from the school counselor’s office or at the Upward Bound office in Corbin Hall, Room 223, at UAPB.
