UofA Extension announces money management program

The “Navigating the Financial Journey” class will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Jefferson County Extension Service, 500 S. Idaho St.

Class will be held in the agency’s conference room, according to Mary Ann Kizer, Jefferson County Family and Consumer Sciences Agent.

“Balancing your money is the key to having enough,” according to Kizer. “With summer vacations in the near future, money management is of utmost importance.”

The class is approved by the United States Bankruptcy Trustee as a financial education program and the course complies with the laws enacted under the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA). Bankruptcy filers will receive their Certificate of Debtor Education, according to the news release.

Budget Development, Money Management, Wise Use of Credit, and Consumer Protection will be taught by Family and Consumer Sciences agents Michelle Carter of Bradley County; Diane Clement of Cleveland County; Jane Newton of Lincoln County; and Mary Ann Kizer of Jefferson County.
