United Way gears up for fundraising campaign

The United Way of Southeast Arkansas is approaching its 2020-2021 fundraising campaign season, and during October the agency will observe a “Month of Caring,” according to a news release.

The United Way usually has a “Day of Caring” but organizers thought the community needed more than a day this year.

“The event is traditionally held in September but The United Way of Southeast Arkansas will hold a ‘month of Caring’ through October which is also United Way month,” according to the release.

The “Month of Caring” will feature acts of kindness within the community throughout October. Also, the agency applauded McFarland Eye Care of Pine Bluff and Little Rock for offering free eye exams Saturday, Oct. 3.

“Like the entire world, United Way has faced new challenges during the year of 2020,” according to a news release. “They are thankful for the generosity of the community and carry the determined spirit that together we can accomplish anything. This year, more than ever, United Way feels its goal is essential to reach, but feels it can and will be reached through the thoughtful and generous hearts of the community.”

United Way appreciates the 2020-21 Board President Glen Dampier, Campaign Chair Scott Kuttenkuler, and Campaign Vice-Chair Joni Alexander.

“Their volunteerism is an example of excellence in community care, leadership and love,” according to the release.
