The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vesper Choir and Department of Music will host a choral assessment featuring 24 choral ensembles Wednesday, Feb. 20, according to a news release.
The Arkansas Choral Directors Association Region 3 Choral Performance Assessment will hold the first ensemble performance at 9 a.m. in the music wing and the John McLinn Ross Auditorium of the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts Building at UAPB.
Ensembles from 12 school districts will come to UAPB to be judged by an adjudication team selected by the Arkansas Choral Directors Association. Ensembles representing many categories and grade levels are assessed on their selection of appropriate literature, caliber of performance and sight reading, according to the release.
Jerron A. Liddell, interim director of the Vesper Choir, is coordinating the event. Support and assistance is provided by Richard Bailey, chairman, the music department faculty and staff, and Vesper Choir students.
