UAPB students obtain Tyson careers at PB, Springdale

Six University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff graduates were selected for permanent positions at Tyson Foods Inc. at their corporate office at Springdale and the plant at Pine Bluff.

Christopher Dutton, an industrial technology management and applied engineering major from Pine Bluff; Jarrion Harris, an industrial technology management and applied engineering from Crawfordsville; and Delya Jackson, a computer science graduate degree recipient from Fort Worth, Texas, will be located at Springdale, with a salary ranging between $55,000-$60,000 per year plus a $5,500-6,500 signing bonus.

Jahmorris Tyson, an agriculture business major from Grady; Raven Johnson, an agriculture economics major from Edmondson; and Jonathan Watson, an agriculture business major from Little Rock, will be located at Pine Bluff, with a salary range of $45,000-$50,000 per year.

Students were selected for summer internship positions include: Marc Carlock, an agriculture business major from Pine Bluff, is located in Corydon, Indiana; Davontae Jenkins, an industrial technology management and applied engineering major from Pine Bluff, is located in Vienne, Georgia; and Tamia Thomas, an animal science major from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is located at Pine Bluff. All interns will be have an hourly salary range of $13-15 per hour.

UAPB students are encouraged to register with the Office of Career Services in their freshman year. Early registration will allow students to have an opportunity to take full advantage of the many services that are offered for career development and advancement. Their office is located in Caldwell Hall, Suite 202.
