The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Program and partners will address unemployment in the Delta.
The press conference will be held at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the STEM Academy and Conference Center at UAPB.
The purpose is to discuss a partnership with Southeast Arkansas College, Economic Development Alliance of Jefferson County, K-12 schools and other entities with a goal of reversing the trend of high unemployment among minorities in Southeast Arkansas.
Remarks about the partnership will be made by UAPB Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander, Alliance President/CEO Lou Ann Nesbitt, Southeast Arkansas College President Stephen Hilterbran, and Principal Investigator Jessie Walker.
