The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s cross country team finished seventh while the women finished ninth on Monday at the SWAC Cross Country Championships at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
UAPB junior Don Kasigwa led the Golden Lions with a 19th-place individual finish, running the men’s 8,000-meter course in 28:29.9. Freshman Altaveon Grant finished 30th, junior Kewarny Fletcher 35th, freshman Noah Pasuquin 46th and freshman Kevin Horns 54th.
For the women, junior Glorie Kabuin led the Lady Lions by finishing 17th. She ran the 5,000-meter women’s course in 20:04.2. Senior Kris-Ann Plummer finished 27th, junior Ashley Robinson 50th, freshman Destinie Woodall 59th and freshman Chandan Hester 64th.
Bethune-Cookman won the men’s championship, its first, while the Alabama State women won their second straight title.
