University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff participants attended a Food Services and Stadium Management conference this fall.
The attendees were David Opiri, a UAPB human sciences major, and Suzzette Shaw Goldmon, Ph.D, UAPB associate professor and program coordinator in the Department of Human Sciences Hospitality and Tourism Management.
The highlight of the stadium management conference was a student tour of the Baltimore Ravens Football M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, according to a news release.
According to Goldmon, the stadium’s food service — operated by Levy, a leading food service management company — has the highest hospitality ranking among national league teams.
The behind-the-scenes tour provided an in-depth look at how luxury seats and the catering operations are managed. This type of experience and insight gives UAPB students and the UAPB Hospitality and Tourism Management program a competitive edge when students apply for stadium internships and catering management positions upon graduation.
Interested students are encouraged to contact Suzzette Goldmon, associate professor for Hospitality and Tourism Management, at (870) 575-8819 or by email at goldmons@uapb.edu.
