The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff announced Sunday night that former UAPB student-athlete Terron Armstead will be the school’s inaugural Golden Lions Athletics Ambassador.
Armstead, an offensive lineman who recently retired after a 12-year NFL career with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, was part of the 2012 UAPB football team that won the SWAC championship and HBCU national championship. He also competed in track and field for the Golden Lions.
According to a release from UAPB, Armstead’s new role with his alma mater will be one “focused on impact and inspiration.” He will “engage with student-athletes, connect with alumni and support key initiatives that elevate Golden Lions Athletics.”
UAPB also announced that Armstead will attend the fifth annual Chris Robinson Golf Tournament on April 23, the Forever Golden All-White Party on April 24 and the Black and Gold Spring Game on April 25.
