The first SWAC home football game this fall for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has been moved up one day to accommodate a national television broadcast, ESPN announced Thursday.

UAPB will host Prairie View A&M on Friday, Oct. 11, at 8:15 p.m. on ESPNU.

This is the second UAPB game this year to be moved to a weeknight. The season opener against Arkansas at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock was moved up two days to Thursday, Aug. 29, in a previous announcement. That game will also air on ESPNU and kick off at 6:30 p.m.

Last season, UAPB played three weeknight games. The Golden Lions played two Thursday night road games, at Tulsa and at Alabama A&M, with one Friday night home game against Grambling State.

The Prairie View game will be the third home game of the year for UAPB and will come six days after the Golden Lions open SWAC play at Alcorn State.

All three Jefferson County high school football teams will be on the road that day. Pine Bluff will play at Beebe, Watson Chapel will travel to Maumelle and White Hall will head to Joe T. Robinson.
