After just over two months at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, assistant football coach Chris Forestier is returning to the state of Texas.

The University of Texas has hired Forestier as a special assistant to head coach Steve Sarkisian.

The move was first reported Friday afternoon by Zach Barnett of Football Scoop. Soon after the report, Forestier updated his X, formerly Twitter, profile to reflect his new position.

UAPB head coach Alonzo Hampton hired Forestier in late March to serve as the Golden Lions’ special teams coordinator and tight ends coach. He spent the prior two seasons at Houston as a special teams analyst. He has also coached at LSU and was a graduate assistant at Northwestern State (La.). He is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native and LSU graduate.
