The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Small Farm Program will host a public meeting about housing opportunities in Chicot County at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Chamber of Commerce at Dermott.
Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development will give a presentation. Specific programs to be covered include the 502 program for purchasing or construction of dwellings, the 502 program for purchasing manufactured housing and the 504 program for grants and loans to repair existing homes.
Applications will be available at the meeting and USDA representatives will be available to help in filling them out. Contact Travis Collins, program coordinator, 870-355-7007, if you have special needs.
