The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Small Farm Program will sponsor a livestock financial/production workshop at Marvell.
The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Boys, Girls, Adults Community Development Center.
The workshop topics will include herd health, winter feeding and preparing for calving; soil fertility and weed control; enterprise budgets and breakeven prices.
The Livestock Forage Disaster Program will also be discussed. LFP provides disaster payments to help offset grazing losses. The deadline to sign up for losses incurred during the 2015 drought is Jan. 30.
