Area cattlemen will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at the Jefferson County Extension Service, 500 S. Idaho St.
The program should be of interest to all area ranchers, said Henry English, director of the Small Farm Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
The UAPB program is co-sponsoring the meeting with the Extension Service, according to a news release.
Robert Stark Jr., University of Arkansas at Monticello professor of agriculture economics, will discuss current production costs and prices associated with beef cattle. Also, he will discuss surviving low cattle prices with alternative feeds.
Anthony Whittington, the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service agent in Jefferson County, will make a presentation on pasture weed control, including a power point presentation by John Boyd, retired Extension weed scientist.

Dameion White, UAPB Cooperative Extension Program associate, will discuss Environmental Quality Incentive Program conservation practices for pastures.
