The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Debate team recently received honors in two competitions.
The team won the second place Wrecking Crew award at the Texas Two Step Tournament at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. The Wrecking Crew is awarded to the team with the highest win percentage throughout the tournament.
Also, Joseph Robinson from Little Rock had the highest win record for the UAPB debaters and won an octofinalist trophy.
Christopher Cooper from Blytheville won two trophies, being named fourth place speaker and winning a quarterfinalist trophy.
Travis Adams from Blytheville was named second place speaker, also winning an octofinalist trophy.

Meanwhile at the Southern Forensic Championship Tournament at the University of Central Arkansas, Michael Thomas and Pilar Gosha, both from Chicago, were awarded semi-finalist trophies in the team division.
In the individual division, Travis Adams from Blytheville was named second place speaker and also brought home an octofinalist award.
Thomas was also awarded a semi-finalist trophy and elected to serve on the Southern Forensics Championship Tournament Governing Board representing Arkansas for the 2012-2013 season. He is also the current president of the George “Doc” Jones Forensic Association.
