The high-scoring University of Arkansas offense was too much for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Friday.
The UAPB women’s basketball team fell 101-49 to Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena during the Razorbacks’ Elementary Day game.
Arkansas (2-0) shot 48.5 percent from the field and made 15 3-pointers. The Razorbacks scored at least 20 points in each quarter, including a 33-point third.
UAPB (1-1) struggled to keep up with that pace, shooting 28.8 percent from the field and never scoring more than 18 in a quarter.
The Lady Lions kept it close in the first quarter. Junior guard Jailah Pelly’s free throw with 2:25 left in the quarter cut Arkansas’ lead to 15-11. From that point, the Razorbacks finished the first quarter and started the second on a 15-2 run and consistently built their lead the rest of the game.

Junior guard Jasmine Davis, a Little Rock native, led UAPB with 14 points, followed by Pelly with 11. Junior guard Indiya Bowen, UAPB’s leading scorer in Monday’s win at Memphis, led with 10 points at halftime but did not score in the second half.
Arkansas junior forward Jenna Lawrence came off the bench to score a career-high 26 points after shooting 5 of 5 from 3-point range. Four other Razorbacks scored in double digits, including freshman guard Bonnie Deas, who scored 12 points with 11 rebounds.
