The long stretch of season-opening road games for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s basketball team starts Monday night.

UAPB will face Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Washington, on Big Ten-Plus at 10 p.m. CST.

Big Ten-Plus is the Big Ten Conference’s subscription-based streaming service, which costs $12.99 per month or $89.99 per year. The men’s game at Washington will be the only regular season UAPB basketball game against a Big Ten foe this season, men’s or women’s.

For UAPB (6-25 in 2024-25), this game will be the start of a week-long west coast road trip. After Monday’s opener, the Golden Lions will travel to the University of Portland on Nov. 6 and Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles on Nov. 8 before returning to the Central Time Zone to continue their 11-game stretch of road games to open the season.

Washington (13-18) will be the first of four Power Four opponents to host UAPB this season, with each such game scheduled for this month.

Both teams enter this season opener having won their respective exhibitions. UAPB went on the road and defeated preseason Ohio Valley Conference favorite Little Rock 77-69, while Washington defeated UNLV 77-62 in Seattle.

UAPB started a smaller lineup of four guards and one forward against Little Rock, while the Huskies went big with two guards, two forwards and a center against the Rebels.

Senior forward Jaquan Scott led the Golden Lions with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Other Golden Lions to watch include senior guards Alex Mirhosseini and Quion Williams.

Washington freshman forward Hannes Steinbach led the Huskies in their exhibition with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Sophomore forward Bryson Tucker and guard Wesley Yates III also broke double digits against UNLV.

Pine Bluff basketball fans may remember Yates for hitting the game-winning shot for Beaumont (Texas) United against Pine Bluff High School in the 2022 King Cotton Holiday Classic championship game at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
