UAPB announces science fair Thursday

More than 200 participants will display their scientific abilities at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for the annual Science Fair Exposition.

This free, public event begins at 7:30 a.m. Thursday and will be held in the Kenneth L. Johnson Sr. Health Physical Education and Recreation complex.

Represented schools include Belair Middle School, Ridgway Christian School, Robert F. Morehead Middle School, Stuttgart Junior and Senior High School, Watson Chapel Junior High School, Little Rock Central High School and Mabelvale Magnet School.

The expo will have 40 judges for both categories consisting of faculty, staff, retired educators, hospital staff and government agencies, according to Anissa Buckner, chair of the Department of Biology and Science Fair committee. An awards ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the arena. Details: Call 575-7113.
