The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has added another alumnus to its athletic department’s leadership.
UAPB announced Brenton Sumler as executive senior associate athletics director for compliance on Monday.
Sumler most recently worked as an associate athletics director at the University of Oklahoma overseeing well-being initiatives, NCAA Title IX education and sports administration for several Olympic sports. He has also worked at LSU, Appalachian State and the University of Memphis during his 21-year career.
His compliance background includes eligibility certification, rules education and working with the NCAA’s Academic Performance Report program. His addition to UAPB’s administration comes with the UAPB football program serving APR-related penalties.
Sumler was a four-year letterman with the UAPB football program and is a member of the UAPB/AM&N Letter “A” Club and was previously honored as one of the inaugural “50 Under 50 Outstanding Young Alumni.”
