Adult vaccinations and health screenings will be offered from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 3, Saturday, Nov. 3, at a University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff homecoming tailgate event, according to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
Anyone interested in receiving a vaccination should bring their insurance card for billing.
Walgreens, UAMS South Central Center on Aging and the Schmieding Caregiver Training Program of UAMS will conduct the health sessions.
Adult vaccinations for flu and pneumonia will be administered at UAPB’s Simmons Bank Field, 1960 Oliver Road. A TDap (tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough) booster vaccine and a vaccine for shingles will be offered as well. Information on the importance of vaccinations will be available, according to the release.
Also, blood glucose screenings will be administered, diabetes and high blood pressure consultations will be offered and information on family caregiver workshops will be available. The first 120 visitors who participate in all four of activities will be eligible for a free blood pressure monitor provided by Walgreens.
