Understanding credit, college savings plans, investing and retirement planning are the subjects of “Dinner and Dollars,” an event for area K-12 educators and staff.
The the workshop and dinner will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in conference room A of the Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
UAM’s School of Business will host the event. The principal speaker will be David George, investment education coordinator and senior securities examiner for the Arkansas Securities Department.
Participants will receive dinner, resources for adults and students and a $25 stipend. Educators will receive two hours of professional development credit, according to a news release.
“The workshop will provide practical tips and strategies to improve financial health and to guide students in planning for their financial future,” Marsha Clayton, associate professor of business administration and director of the UAM Center for Economic Education, said.
The event sponsors are Economics Arkansas, the Arkansas Securities Department, and the UAM Center for Economic Education.
