The University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Forestry and Natural Resources will lead a celebration of Arbor Day Monday, March 30, through Thursday, April 2.
UAM students will mulch about 100 trees and the Student Government Association will put up 15 to 20 signs next to trees with informational messages about Arbor Day and the benefits of trees.
Other activities include a quiz bowl, a scavenger hunt and a communitywide Arbor Day ceremony and cook-out with the Monticello Tree Board and fourth-grade students. The ceremony will include Monticello Tree City USA and UAM Tree Campus USA presentations.
