The University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-Crossett will host free boater education and hunter education courses.
The boater education course will be offered 6-9 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 5-6. The hunter education course will be offered 6-9:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Oct. 20-22.
Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1986, and of legal age to operate a motorboat or sailboat must have successfully completed an approved Arkansas Game and Fish Commission boating education course and carry proof while operating a motorboat or sailboat on Arkansas waters.
The hunter education course is mandatory for hunters born after Dec. 31, 1968. The course includes firearms safety, conservation, wildlife management, sportsmanship, archery, muzzle-loading, first aid and survival, and other hunting information.
