Pine Bluff Police have named two people wanted for questioning in connection to the July 18 homicide of Markee Avery at 1212 S. Spruce St.
Police are looking for Demarious Brothers, 34, and Cierra Toomer, 28.
According to a news release, the first detective who arrived at the scene saw several people at the corner of 13th Avenue and Spruce Street waving him toward the residence. The detective walked into the yard and saw a Black male, later identified as Avery, lying on his back on the ground with his hands “straight up in the air,” police say. The detective checked for pulse and found none.
Blood was observed on Avery’s chest and around the right side of his head, according to police. The detective then advised emergency personnel the scene was secure.
