Two recommended for pardons

Two Southeast Arkansas residents were recommended for pardons by the Arkansas Parole Board in November.

The board recommended that the governor pardon Fakeesha Goins, who was convicted of shoplifting in Jefferson County, and Brandon K. Martin, who was convicted of delivery of a controlled substance marijuana and possession of a controlled substance marijuana in Cleveland County.

The board rejected the application of David R. Wardlaw, who was convicted of manufacturing a controlled substance marijuana, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and felon in possession of a firearm in Jefferson County.

The recommendations were sent to Gov. Mike Beebe, who will make the final decision.
