Two men were arrested Saturday afternoon after they allegedly were involved in an armed disturbance.
David Kilcrease, 38, allegedly pulled a knife and Joseph Watson, 23, fired a shot into muddy water where Kilcrease was standing, Detective Scott Norton said in a probable cause affidavit presented in court Monday.
Reading from the affidavit, Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Pugh said police were sent at 1:40 p.m. Saturday to Wildwood Cove, and while en route, received information that there had been a shot fired into the woods and no one had come out of the woods.
Norton said in the affidavit that Kilcrease was riding an ATV with his girlfriend on a trail behind with house when the ATV went into deep water and would not run properly.
Pugh said Kilcrease then rode the ATV through the neighborhood at a high rate of speed to try to dry out the exhaust when several neighbors complained, and one followed him to the trail where the ATV went into the water again.

According to the affidavit, Watson and two other men approached Kilcrease to complain and they got into a verbal altercation. Kilcrease allegedly told police he was “outnumbered” and pulled out a Case Two folding knife and Watson allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired one shot into the muddy water near the ATV.
Police recovered the knife and a .380-caliber handgun that had one spent shell casing in it, the affidavit said.
Pugh said Kilcrease had an “extensive criminal history” dating back to 1994 while Watson had no prior convictions or pending charges.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Kilcrease and a $10,000 bond for Watson after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge both with aggravated assault.
The two were also ordered to have no contact with each other until the case is settled.
Kilcrease and Watson both said they would hire their own attorney.
