Two face drug charges

Two people were arrested on drug related charges Thursday after police served a search warrant at a house on the west side of Pine Bluff.

Charlie Prather, 38, and Aubrey Strong, 35, could be charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia after a court hearing Friday. Strong could also be charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said the two were arrested when police vice and narcotics officers served the warrant at 2822 Orlando St. at 7:35 p.m. Thursday.

Detective Jack Hendon reported that Prather was sitting on a couch holding a glass smoking pipe with smoke coming out the end, and Strong was also sitting on the couch when officers entered the house.

Kizer said Prather set the pipe down on the coffee table and officers reported seeing “smoke coming out of his month.”

Hendon reported that officers found a small baggie containing 2.4 grams of a green vegetable substance that field tested positive for marijuana, a small bag containing a crystal-like substance,as well as two other glass smoking pipes with one of them burned on the end.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 bond for Prather, who Kizer said had felony charges pending in circuit court, and a $10,000 bond for Strong, and told them to come back to court March 30.
