A last-second shot erased a commanding halftime lead as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s basketball team dropped its second game of the season.
Tulsa came from behind to beat UAPB 63-60 on Wednesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Tulsa.
Tulsa guard Elise Hill nailed a game-winning 3-pointer with 0.8 second remaining to complete the second-half comeback for the Golden Hurricane (1-0), who hadn’t led since late in the first quarter.
UAPB (0-2) led 42-25 at halftime after shooting 51.7 percent from the field and making five 3-pointers in the first two quarters.
The Lady Lions scored 26 points in the second quarter but couldn’t match that number across the second half. Tulsa won the third quarter 23-13, then outscored UAPB 15-5 in the fourth.

The Golden Hurricane tied the game at 60 with two free throws by Mady Cartwright after a rebounding foul by Briontany Marshall. The Lady Lions had the ball with 17 seconds and a chance to retake the lead, but Jailah Pelly’s go-ahead drive was wiped out by a charge call with 5 seconds remaining.
Tulsa called a timeout to advance the ball to the front court, setting up Hill for the game-winner.
D’Arrah Allen led UAPB with 19 points but fouled out in the fourth quarter. Kristyna Boyd scored 13 with 8 rebounds, followed by Jazmyn Sostand with 11 points.
Delanie Crawford led Tulsa with 19 points, while Hill scored 12.
UAPB is scheduled to face Ole Miss at 2 p.m. Sunday in Oxford, Miss. The game can be streamed on SEC Network+.
