Trinity Episcopal Church of Pine Bluff, 703 W. Third Ave., has called the Rev. Herman Beseah Browne as its 15th rector in the church’s 166-year history.
His ministry will begin in July, with his first sermon to be delivered July 6, according to a news release.
With 37 years in ordained ministry, Browne has served diverse congregations in England and West Africa.
The theologian has held numerous leadership roles, including honorary Canon of Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury, England, since 2001; Dean of the Episcopal Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Monrovia, Liberia (2010–2016); President of Cuttington University in Liberia (2016–2021); and President of the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Church of Liberia (2023–2025).
Most recently, he served as interim priest at St. John’s Episcopal Church at Helena.

Browne is joined by his wife, Trokon Lisa Chea, an insurance banker, and their three children: Hermalisa Inquen (17), Hermalyn Nyuande (16), and Herman Beseah (12).

The public is invited to join Trinity Episcopal Church at 10:30 a.m. July 6 for Browne’s first service.
