A free tree and shrub pruning workshop will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March, 12, at the Delta Rivers Nature Center at Regional Park, according to a news release.
The Southeast Arkansas Stormwater Education Program of the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service in conjunction with Pine Bluff Tree City USA is accepting registration for the workshop.
The featured speaker will be Jim Robbins, Extension ornamental horticulture specialist of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture.
The program will teach participants about benefits of proper pruning, negative impacts associated with improper pruning, and offer a hands-on pruning demonstration.
The session is free as part of an Urban and Community Forestry Assistance Grant offered through the Arkansas Forestry Commission and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to the release.

A major goal of the program is to cultivate pruning skills among participants so that they can help lead or support community beautification and water quality protection efforts in Jefferson County and other regions.
