“Small Works on Paper,” a traveling visual art exhibition, is on display in the Glassblock Gallery of the Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello through Wednesday, Oct. 26.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 9-10 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Small Works on Paper” is a juried visual art exhibition that showcases artwork of Arkansas artists who are members of the Arkansas Artist Registry, an online gallery. Membership to the registry is free and open to all Arkansas artists.
The “Small Works on Paper” exhibition travels to 10 venues throughout the state in a year-long show, offering Arkansas artists an opportunity to showcase their artwork to patrons all over the state. An out-of-state juror selects a maximum of 40 pieces of artwork to tour with the exhibition.
The Arkansas Arts Council advances the arts in Arkansas by providing services and supporting arts endeavors that encourage and assist literary, performing and visual artists in achieving standards of professional excellence. The council provides technical and financial assistance to Arkansas arts organizations and other providers of cultural and educational programs.
The council is an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. Funding for the council and its programs is provided by the state of Arkansas and the National Endowment for the Arts.
