TOPPS (Targeting Our People’s Priorities with Service) Inc., 1000 Townsend Drive, announced upcoming programs.
Sunday, Feb. 9 — from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., TOPPS will host a fund-raising dinner. The proceeds will support TOPPS and the spring break travel. The cost of the dinner is $10 and it will include a meat, two sides — baked chicken or meat loaf, mashed potatoes or macaroni and cheese, green beans, roll and dessert. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Meals can be eaten there or carried out, according to a news release.
Saturday, Feb. 15 — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., TOPPS will host its annual Girl’s Conference. The theme will be TOPPS Girls Preparing for Battle (Self Esteem, Education, Self Worth, Achieving Goals, Attitude…etc.)
The keynote speaker is Lakisha Johnson, a radio host from Little Rock. The workshop presenter is Sherry Campbell from Bryant and Latisha Brunson-Smith, a Pine Bluff fashion show presenter. Girls ages 8-18 are encouraged to attend. All participants will receive a T-shirt and conference bag. Lunch will be provided.

Also, officials announced that TOPPS is featured in a book: TightRope – Americans Reaching For Hope. Nick Kristoff of The New York Times and Sheryl WuDunn, author of the #1 best seller, Half The Sky, announced the book’s release. The book shares stories of families who are helped through the TOPPS program. Kristoff’s article in 2016, “Finding America’s Mother Teresa,” featured TOPPS director, Annette Dove, and the TOPPS program.
TOPPS is a non-profit 501 ( c) (3) organization that provides 12 programs in the city of Pine Bluff and adjacent communities.
