Three Rivers Audubon Society will host a letter writing party for participants to write elected officials expressing concerns about potential pollution of the Buffalo River.
The group will meet in the classroom in front of Delta Rivers Nature Center at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30.
“The Buffalo River has been designated as a ‘National River’ and it suffers from potential pollution because of hog farm waste run-off,” a spokeswoman said in a news release. “Anyone interested in protecting the river is urged to participate in this effort.”
