Three Rivers Audubon Society elects officers

Three Rivers Audubon Society officers and board recently met at Cook Lake to plan activities for the coming year, according to a news release.

Plans were made to participate in the lawn and garden show, the migratory birdcounts, the Great Backyard Bird Count, the Christmas Bird Count and to have an annual picnic meeting at Cane Creek.

The annual birdseed sale fundraiser will be held next fall to send students to Halberg Camp.

The following officers and directors were elected: President: Delos McCauley; Vice president: Rowland Barthet; Treasurer: Ken Theis; Secretary: Frances Taylor; Hazel McCauley, field trip chairman; Betty Coles. membership chairman; Claire Holmes, publicity chairman; John House, education chairman and Richard Berry, conservation chairman.

A bird watching trip is conducted each Wednesday at 9 a.m. The group meets at the east end of the Lake Saracen parking lot. Everyone is welcome.
