Editor, The Commercial:
This letter is in response to the article on 12-3-2011 about the Cardinals magical run ends at the hands of the Bruins. However, this was really a great season for the Dollarway Cardinals football team and the Dollarway School District. The Dollarway Cardinals showed faith, unity, and courage in order to get into the 4A state playoffs.
I also feel that Coach Cortez Lee should have the title of Coach of the Year, despite their loss. Dollarway head football coach said he was proud of the way his team fought in the game. The guy’s fought, Coach Cortez Lee said after the game, that’s what they said they wanted to do, regardless of the situation. He said they wanted to continue to have that Cardinal Pride and just continue to play for each other. However, the Dollarway Cardinals football players, cheerleaders, band, and fans are still true winners because of their pride, faith, and love for the game. The Dollarway Cardinals never gave up and never quit on the mission, and they are all winners in life because they continued to the end of the 4A football season.
