Teen jailed in killing of 65-year-old

Special agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division arrested a Lake Village teenager in connection with the death of Willie McCree, 65, of Lake Village.

On Aug. 22, state police agents, with the assistance of the Lake Village Police Department, arrested Anthony Adams, 18. Adams was taken into custody and transported to the Lake Village jail, where he faces charges of first-degree murder, according to a news release.

The arrest stems from an incident at approximately 8 p.m. on Aug. 20, after Lake Village Police Department officers responded to a welfare check in the 300 block of Black Street.

Upon entering the residence, officers discovered the body of McCree. Local police then asked the state police to investigate the death.

McCree’s body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the manner and cause of death.
