Teen Court students, staff tour state Capitol

Sixth Division Teen Court Diversion Program students and staff took a tour of the state Capitol, met with state Rep. Mike Holcomb and Rep. Ken Ferguson and toured the Bowen School of Law.

Teen court has been operating since 2009, according to a news release.

“Teen court is a successful diversion program for first time offenders. Teen Court recruits students from the 9th grade to the 12th grade to serve as prosecutors, defense attorneys, court officers, and jury. Student volunteers gain valuable experience on the court system and obtain volunteer hours,” according to the release.
